LODHA Lab Double Ribbon U Shaped Blender

Ribbon Blenders consist of a U-shaped horizontal trough and a specially fabricated ribbon agitator. A ribbon agitator consists of a set of inner and outer helical agitators. The outer ribbon moves materials in one direction and the inner ribbon moves the materials in the opposite direction. It is a light duty, compact blender is specially designed to achieve convention mechanism of blending powder components which are pre–processed like dried granules, pre-sieved powders etc. It is low shear mixer and ideal for solid/ solid mixing and solid/ liquid mixing can also be achieved when high shearing force is not desired.

Ribbon Blender can be fabricated in mild steel, stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316 and other metals as per individual process requirements.

Available in two shapes – U & W. U-for Low to Medium Volume Capacity (single shaft). W-for Large to Mega Volume Capacity (double shaft). Batch size based on 65% of Blender volume. All contact parts in stainless steel 304. Bearing mounted on lanterns out of mixing zone to avoid Cross contamination. Feeding through a charging port mounted on top of the blender. Process Operation of Ribbon Blender:

A ribbon blender consists of a horizontal trough incorporating a central shaft and a helical ribbon agitator. In this blender, two counteracting ribbons are mounted on the same shaft. One of the ribbons moves the solids slowly in one direction, while the other one moves the solids quickly in the other direction. In batch operated ribbon blenders, the solids are charged and mix until satisfactory and discharged from the bottom.  Mixing takes place due to the turbulence generated by counteracting ribbons and not only by motion of the solids through the trough.
